No. Because this is a dedicated service from your home or business to Nucleus, you will never receive a busy signal.
Will there be any special hardware required? If so what will the costs for this be in addition to the access costs?

What transfer rates will be possible? Minimum? Maximum?
DSL technology is depended on cable length from your home or business to the Telus Central Office. The longer the cable, the slower speed you will receive.
What special software, if any will be needed? Will Dial-Up Networking still be used for this?
No special software is required for your high speed access. Most operating systems such as Windows 95/98 include everything you will require.
What type of high speed modem are you using?
Nucleus has used numerous DSL modems since first offering DSL service. At the present time Nucleus is using D-Link 300i, 3Com HomeConnect, & Linksys ME3 DSL modems.
Can I use a modem that I purchase or already have?
Possibly. As long as the modem is approved by Nucleus, you may be able to use your DSL modem. Please contact Nucleus for more information.
Will a special phone line be required for this?
No. The only thing required is at least one telephone line. The High Speed Internet connection rides on the same phone line you use now.
I currently have ISDN and digital Centrex lines in my office, can I use this for High Speed Internet?
No. As these are digital services provided by the phone company, we can not utilize these lines.
If High Speed Internet uses the same telephone line I am using now, will it ring busy when others are trying to call me?
No. Nucleus High Speed Internet rides above your current telephone line and is invisible to anyone calling from your line or into your line. You will never receive a busy signal when using the Internet.
Do I have to sign a contract for the service?
Yes and No. A minimum one-year contract will be required for any Business type of High Speed Internet access service. Personal and Business Lite DSL accounts do not require a contract.

Can I get my entire network onto High Speed Internet?

A spare set of telephone wires is also required to be in the room you would like to move the service to.
Can I purchase extra email boxes with my service?
Yes. You can purchase as many mailboxes as you would like. Please call for current pricing.
Can I run my own servers such as mail, FTP, WWW, etc?
The home and business lite packages do NOT allow users to run servers. You must purchase one of Nucleus' Full Business DSL packages if you would like to run servers.
Is technical support still provided free of charge?
Yes. Telephone and email technical support is still provided to you for all your Internet questions.
Can I connect other operating systems such as UNIX, OS/2, etc to my connection?
Yes. However Nucleus does not install or give technical support for these operating systems.
If I understand correctly, my High Speed Internet connection can only be used when I am at the location it is installed at. What happens if I am away or on vacation? Can I still access the Internet?
Yes. Nucleus provides all High Speed Internet users with a normal 56K or slower speed dial-up account. You will be able to use the Internet from any location you wish.
